Dogs Thump Valdosta State
Takais (that's Ta-kay-is, not Ta-kai) Brown led the Dogs with 23 points off the bench in a 105-74 victory over Valdosta State. I did not attend the game, but I listened on the radio while watching both Ohio State vs. Michigan and Auburn vs. Alabama on tv. My wife was pretty impressed, or not, with my ability to pay attention to two games visually and one by ear all at the same time. Anywho, Takais started off slow, but really came on strong after that. He only played 19 minutes, but he still managed 23 points on 8 of 14 shooting (7 of 9 from the charity stripe), 4 rebounds, and a blocked shot.
From listening to the radio, it also sounded like Dave Bliss had a pretty good game himself. He scored 14 points in 14 minutes. I've never known what exactly to think about Bliss, but he's been hurt pretty much since he came to Athens. This team needs good inside play. If this keeps up, the Dogs should roll into Wake Forest with only one loss. Then we'll see what this team is made of.
