Weekend Recap
Georgia Basketball
Once again, Georgia took care of business defeating Vanderbilt 85-73. That puts Georgia at 2-1 in the SEC, above .500 in the conference for the first time since Harrick's last season. Two things I took from the game. First, it looks like Levi's shooting slump is over. Levi led Georgia in scoring with 23 points and was 4 of 9 from beyond the arc. Second was the return of Billy Humphrey to the box score. Billy had 17 points and was 4 of 8 from beyond the arc. It is important for this team that they continue to get quality minutes out of Billy Humphrey. There needs to be someone else that can score from the perimeter when Mercer or Stukes are off.

If Georgia wants to be playing in March, they can't afford to lose to teams they are capable of beating. Beating South Carolina and Vanderbilt is a big step in the right direction. Now, it's back to the gauntlet. I could list out the next five games as being difficult, but I don't want to get too far ahead. Let's focus on this week. Georgia goes on the road to play at Arkansas on Wednesday and at Alabama on Saturday. Both games are going to be tough, tough, tough. A split of these games would be huge.
NFL Playoffs
Numerous Bulldogs have advanced to the championship games. Here are all of the Georgia players, by team, still alive in the NFL playoffs:
Chicago - none
Indianapolis - Tim Jennings
New England - Richard Seymour, Ben Watson, Patrick Pass*
New Orleans - Charles Grant, Jon Stinchcomb
Four of those players are starting for their teams in Seymour, Watson, Stinchcomb, and Grant. That is pretty impressive.
Of course, there were also many Bulldogs knocked out of the playoffs this weekend. By team they are:
Baltimore - Musa Smith*
Philadelphia - Reggie Brown, Max Jean-Gilles
Seattle - David Greene, Mack Strong
San Diego - Randall Godfrey
I think it's pretty cool that of the eight teams in the divisional round of the playoffs, only one didn't have a Bulldog on the roster.
* Patrick Pass is on injured reserve for the Patriots as is Musa Smith for the Ravens.
