Beating Florida is Not Enough

The Georgia men's basketball team is doing what it can to make a final push for the NCAA tournament. After last night's win over Auburn, Coach Felton said he hoped we were already being considered for the NCAA tournament, and that beating Florida would seal the deal. Unfortunately, Georgia's SEC East counterparts aren't giving them any help. Its now 30 minutes until Georgia tips off against Florida in a quarterfinal matchup. With Tennessee falling to LSU, Kentucky to Mississippi State, and Vanderbilt to Arkansas, Georgia and Florida are the only two SEC East teams still standing. So, if Georgia does beat Florida, they still need to win the whole tournament to get an automatic bid if they want to be in the NCAA tournament. Why? Because, if Georgia does beat Florida, but doesn't win it all, that means a team from the West gets the automatic bid. They would be the 6th SEC team in the NCAA tournament field, and Georgia would be left on the outside looking in. Well, I'm going to get ready for the game. One game at a time...Go Dawgs! Beat the Gators!
