The primary reason for making a change was to create more space between perimeter and post players. Ideally, that would help the rules committee continue on its mission to spread the floor and reduce physical play.I'm less worried about that. I don't like it when games turn into three point shooting contests. Especially when the Dawgs try and fail miserably at it. Do you think players will think twice about taking threes now? How would this rule have affected the careers of players like Levi Stukes and Lee Humphrey?

John Kincade is Smiling
All I heard Kincade talk about during the NCAA tournament was how close the three point line is in college basketball. I'm sure he will be delighted to find out the three point line is being moved out by one foot. Although I'm sure we'll have to listen to one more tournament of these complaints, since this will not go into effect until the 2008-2009 season. Allegedly, the thought behind extending the arc is not to increase the difficulty of the three point shot.
