Coaches All SEC Team

Today's AJC has the coaches pre-season All SEC team. They gave the story a headline of "Where are the Dawgs?" because no Georgia players made the first team offense or defense. Again we have the AJC trying to get Georgia fans riled up.

Taking a look at the list, I'd say the Georgia players are about where they should be. Coutu is the first team kicker, and Mikey Henderson is the first team return man. Oddly enough, I'm not convinced Henderson can hold off Thomas Flowers as the team's punt returner.

Brandon Miller and Kelin Johnson are on the second team defense. Again, that seems right. The fifth and final Dawg to make the list is Fernando Velasco on the third team.

If I had to slot our guys, I would probably have Velasco on the second team. I also would have Stafford in there somewhere. I have no argument for Andre Woodson as first team. But Chris Nickson as third team QB? It's better than Tebow I suppose, but I'd take Stafford over Nickson.

As for the rest of our guys, we don't have anyone established enough to be on this list. Personally, I'd much rather have guys on the post season anyway. Oh, and I'm still ticked Tony Taylor wasn't first team All SEC last year. That was crap.

  1. I am sick of Atlanta, and the AJC.. If possible I am going to relocated my business to Athens and get the hell out of this place lol. AJC can talk all the crap they want, we seen what happened last year when they chose gtu over UGA.
