Falcons Cut Fred Gibson

This is really surprising to me. Apparently, I'm not the only one that is surprised. Steve Wyche had this to say in the AJC.
In a surprising development, the Falcons released wide receiver Fred Gibson on Saturday, just three days into training camp. Gibson, who was signed as a free agent in February, had positioned himself to make the roster during off season workouts but was told this morning he was cut.
When you read Wyche's whole article, it sounds like several things contributed to this. Gibson missed a meeting, and he says he has been sick. The coaches say he didn't bring it to training camp like he did mini camp. Gibson attributed this to his being sick, but he never told any coaches or trainers he wasn't feeling well.

I don't know what to think of this. A lot of people felt like this was Fred's last shot at the NFL. Maybe he'll still get another shot though. It's still crazy thinking back to how dominating Fred was as a freshman wideout, and now this...
