More on Tony Taylor

Earlier this week I linked over to Matt Moore's interview with Tony Taylor on AtlantaFalcons.com. I sat down and watched the video with my dad. When we were done watching, we started talking about Taylor's chances to actually make the Falcons. We went so far as to look at the Falcons' depth chart to see what the likelihood was. However, I'm currently on vacation, and I didn't feel like taking the time to work all of that into a post. And actually, I'm still not going to do it right now. I may do something like that during the Falcons pre-season with all of the Georgia players fighting for roster spots.

What I will do is link over to something I can't believe I missed. Steve Wyche's most recent blog entry on AJC.com talked about the Falcons' linebacker situation. He had this to say at the very end of the entry.
Another little nugget; there’s a buzz that the Falcons’ coaches really like undrafted middle linebacker Tony Taylor out of Georgia. His headiness and knowledge of the game has set him apart from other upstarts and if he can meet the physical demands of the NFL, he could be on the roster.
I'm not sure exactly where he's going with the "physical demands of the NFL" comment. It probably has something to do with Taylor's size (6-0, 237). Aside from blowing out his knee at G Day a few years back, I don't recall Taylor having many injury problems. So, I'm thinking the physical demands shouldn't be a problem.

  2. Deaner - Very true. It also needs to be updated to include Noriaki Kinoshita. I wonder if he'll be ahead of Fred Gibson...
