Dawgs in the Pre-Season

The Falcons-Jets pre-season game alone featured several former Dawgs trying to make a name for themselves in the NFL.

The Dawgs to make the box score were DJ Shockley, Tony Taylor, and Danny Ware (Jets).

DJ was 5/12 for 77 yards and a pick. The pick was tipped at the line, so it wasn't too bad. However, DJ looked off. It looks like they are changing the mechanics of his throwing motion and he's still getting used to it.

Tony Taylor looked a little slow when he first stepped on the field. Then he picked it up and had a sweet solo tackle of a receiver across the middle. The announcer said it was Travis Williams, but it was definitely Taylor.

Danny Ware was surprisingly the most impressive Dawg in the game. He rushed 12 times for 48 yards. Ware burst up the middle for 26 yards on his first carry. It was a nice run.

I know Josh Mallard and Martrez Milner also played, but they don't show up on the box score. Milner should have, but he dropped a pass from DJ (insert snide comment here).

In other games, Charles Johnson had a sack for the Panthers against the Giants. Quentin Moses had an assisted tackle for the Raiders against the Cardinals. Chris Clemons also had two tackles for the Raiders in that game. Bruce Thornton had three tackles and a pick for the Jaguars against theDolphins.
