What a Game!

So I was pretty much wrong on establishing the deep ball early. I guess when you talk about that all week, it opens up the screen passes? The screens were working early and often. We ended up taking some shots down field like I thought we would, just not early. The most successful shot down field has to be the last one. The game winner to Mikey Henderson.

Aside from the deep balls, most of my keys to the game came true. We had more Knowshon. How about that 3rd down conversion when he made a fingertip catch, then broke a tackle and extended for the first down? However, Brown looked really good too. I think those guys were really feeding off each other.

The offensive line did play like veterans. Stafford wasn't running for his life all night. There was definitely some pressure and hurry ups, but for the most part the protection was good.

On defense, we were able to get pressure on John Parker Wilson. We didn't force him into any big mistakes, but forcing him to throw the ball away on 4th down was huge!

The defensive line held up much better than against South Carolina. I was afraid Bama was going to line up and run all over us. They had some isolated long runs, but other than that not much.

I'm going to work to get full highlights up at some point this week. But for now, here is the game winner. Enjoy!

Special thanks to PWD for the audio.

  1. Yo Original Blawger and Deaner, what did you two think about Zier on the radio? I want Danzler!

  2. Matt - I didn't get a chance to listen to any of the radio broadcast due to the delay between tv and radio. All I heard was some of the highlights during the Bulldog Brunch on Sunday morning. I liked what I heard, but it was all Scott Howard. I've always said I want Dantzler too, but I can't cast judgement on Zeier without listening to him.

    Matt -

Everything takes time. I'm sure that after the season they will not be afraid to evaluate things further. I'm taking the wait and see approach. Dantzler really, really screwed himself with the panties comments. He's also said to be quite the pompous one acting like he owns the bar when he sets up shop at east west or Bissett's.

Not that I agree with that making a determination for who announces football games but the UGA community does have a lot of influence. Just not over things like parking.
