Prior to Thursday night's game between South Carolina and Kentucky, there were four teams in the East that controlled their own destiny to make it to the SEC Championship Game. With their loss to South Carolina, Kentucky was removed from that list.
So now the three teams in the SEC East that control their own destiny are Florida, South Carolina, and...that's right, Vanderbilt. All three of these teams have one conference loss to a team from the SEC West. Thus, if any of these win out, they win the East.
As we stand right now, Georgia and Tennessee are on the outside looking in. Georgia needs South Carolina to lose, and Tennessee needs the Gators to lose. The winner of today's game between Georgia and Tennessee is still alive, while the loser is all but eliminated.
It is definitely possible for a two loss team to make the title game this year. But, not for a team with both losses in the East. The team most likely to make the title game with two losses to me is Florida. The odds are they could lose today, win out and go to the title game.
Yeah, it's clear all right. It's clear that we are now 0-6 in the SEC East. Not somehting I EVER thought I'd see in the CMR era.
ReplyDeleteYesterday's debacle was shockingly pathetic. Getting our asses handed to us by UcheaT 2 freakin' years in a row is absolutely unacceptable. We have too much talent to get whipped like that.
Big, monumental changes need to be made on both sides of the ball and FAST!
Anyone here still like CWM's soft zone?
Someone please tell me why we can't tackle?
Why did phenom MS look so bad? He didn't run an offense yesterday and over-threw multiple times, as usual.
Can't wait 'til the WLOCP...Ugh
