In Case You Missed It

After the Blackout, I forgot to post the results of Friday night's basketball game. The Dawgs destroyed Jacksonville State 107-65. Surprisingly, Georgia only led 47-41 at the half. But, in the second half, Georgia's depth and athleticism took over.

Yata got in early foul trouble, which led to big minutes for true freshman point guard Zac Swansey. Swansey did not disappoint, dishing out 10 assists. In fact, all five of the freshmen looked good. As a group, they scored 54 points. All five were on the floor for the final six minutes of the game.

The two things that stood out to me the most was the play of Jeremy Price and Rashaad Singleton. Price had back to back alley oop dunks from Swansey. After the second, he high stepped back down the court. It was fun to watch. Singleton looks like he may finally shed the label of project. We'll see if he continues to progress as the competition gets stiffer.

Also, if you're interested in the new practice facility, check out this gallery from the AJC.
