LSU Highlights

Secret Weapon?

Before he was working miracles on the offensive line with freshmen and sophomores, Stacy Searels was the line coach for this week's opponent, LSU. This fact was not lost on senior defensive tackle Corvey Irvin.
"I asked Coach Searels and he gave me the run down on them, their strengths and their weaknesses," Irvin said. "I won't say what it is, but I'm doing my job as a player because I want to win.

"I'm doing my homework. This is just like the classroom."
Maybe with this inside information, we can actually get some pressure on the quarterback this week...

James Carville on the BCS

I respect it when someone can put aside the fact that they are benefiting from a situation and still realize the situation is a bad one. This is the case with James Carville. Even though his beloved LSU Tigers will play for the national title, he still feels the BCS is a sham.

Shout out to Beaufort_Dawg on the DawgRun.

Les is Not More

What is the deal with Les Miles? He doesn't know how to wear a hat. His players bail him out from dumb risky calls. Next he throws a pity party for LSU because Georgia is ranked higher.
I certainly think the champions in that position should be allowed every opportunity to play in the most prestigious bowl and certainly be the highest ranked.
I just don't see Richt every saying anything like that. Mainly because he refuses to politic right now.

But back to Miles. He's also complaining about overtime.
I look at a team that hasn't lost a game in regulation. There has not been a team that has beaten us in 60 minutes. If we had ties like the old system, we'd be unbeaten with two ties. Maybe, that comes out to one loss.
Is this guy for real? Sorry Les, but this isn't the old system. And, you do have to play overtime. So...you have two losses. Get over it.

Oh and one more thing on Miles. LSU has given Michigan permission to talk to Miles after the SEC Championship game. So basically, Les just wants to get a bigger bowl so he looks better so Michigan will pay him more money.
