Georgia hasn't lost to Kentucky since 1996. In fact, Georgia leads the all time series 47-10-2. Unfortunately, this game is shaping up to be a shoot out. Something tells me the defense won't be as stout as it was against Florida. Andre Woodson isn't helping matters either. Everyone has been talking about the improvement of Erik Ainge this year, but lets not overlook what Woodson has done at Kentucky this season. According to
SECSports.com, Woodson is 2nd in the league in yards per game and 3rd in total offense this season. On the flipside, Stafford is 10th in both of these categories.
On a positive note, Georgia quarterbacks have been having field days in Lexington ever since 1998. Quincy Carter threw for two touchdowns and ran in another in
'98, Cory Phillips threw four touchdown passes in
'00, Greene and Shockley combined for six touchdowns in
'02, and the pair combined for another 3 touchdowns in
'04. Look for that trend to continue with Matthew Stafford today (Kentucky ranks
dead last in the conference in passing defense). If the Dogs can cut down on the turnovers, look for them to win.
