Dawgs Tame Tigers
Now that was exciting. The steg was packed. The game was close. You don't get any better than a buzzer beater to win the game. The pre game ceremony for Kevin Brophy was very nice. I especially enjoyed getting to hear Kevin's brother's speech.
Early on, I think a lot of people were wondering if the pregame ceremony brought out too many emotions to control, as the Dawgs fell behind 19-7. But Georgia started slowly chipping away at the lead, and finished the first half down only three.
Takais was double teamed the ENTIRE game. Amazingly, he still had 15 points (including a three pointer). It was somewhat alarming that we never figured out a way to exploit that double team. I expect that will be worked on a lot this week in practice. With LSU all over Takais, the three point shot definitely is what kept the Dawgs in the game. Georgia made eight three pointers in the second half alone.
Make sure you link to both articles above. There is some great stuff in there. The quotes from Levi about the last shot and remembering Brophy at South Carolina last year are really cool. I've definitely got more to say about the game, but I think I'll put that up later. Today was for Broph, and it was a great day.
