Minor NCAA Violations

Today's Athens Banner Herald reports that Georgia made seven NCAA violations since January 1st. All of the violations were minor. Here's a list of what happened:
  • Football
    • Fernando Velasco, Kregg Lumpkin, Paul Oliver and Marcus Howard went to a banquet at A.J. Harmon's high school
    • Two walk-ons that were not full time students participated in off season conditioning
  • Men's Basketball
    • A recruit was called more times than allowed in a certain time period
  • Women's Tennis
    • A recruit was called more times than allowed in a certain time period
  • Softball
    • A recruit was hosted during a dead period
  • Diving
    • Conditioning took place during the week before finals
  • Track & Field
    • The team left too early for a competition
Some of those are just silly. The football and softball violations were the worst. And in my opinion, the softball violation was the very worst. Hosting a recruit during a dead period? I'm not sure how that one happens.

And naturally the basketball program is having issues with phone calls again. Let's just hope these didn't involve the state of Hawaii in any way.
