Georgia released the 2007-2008 basketball schedule last night. Not surprisingly, PWD over at the Georgia Sports Blog is not entirely pleased. Surprising to me is the degree, or lack thereof, to which he is displeased. I expected more of a reaction out of PWD, but I digress.
The main beef I have is the lack of a game at Gwinnett arena against a quality opponent. I've really enjoyed attending those games the past two years. It's so much easier to get over there when you live in metro Atlanta.
I would definitely like to see it be tougher, but I suppose this schedule is ok. The trips to Gonzaga and Wisconsin are especially nice. Throw in Georgia Tech and Wake Forest at home, plus the Rainbow Classic and this schedule looks ok.
The bottom line is this team needs to bring it every conference game and have a winning record in the league. If that happens, they should be dancing.
i think it's because i expected it to be worse. It's still pretty sucky in reality. It's just that the math works in our favor. we gamed the system...which is what i was hoping we'd do.
