Martinez Isn't Going Anywhere

Richt confirmed what I already believed today.
With some of his assistants, particularly defensive coordinator Willie Martinez, coming under fire from fans, Georgia coach Mark Richt declared Sunday that he expects no changes on his staff for next season.

“I really don’t,” Richt said. “I really don’t.”
But he did say the entire program will be evaluated.
“We’re going to start at the top and go to the bottom, or vice versa,” he said. “Everything we do, we’re going to critique it and be willing to do whatever it takes to get better.

“There are so many areas you could improve, and it’s really not a whole lot different than [after] any other season. … But it might be with even a finer tooth comb than in years past. We just have to be real open and honest in our evaluations of ourselves.”
At least it sounds like the kickoff situation is on the top of Richt's to do list.
We might have to go to Poland or something and find a guy who can kick it out of the end zone. And give him two scholarships.

  1. CMR had better be careful not to let his program start slipping away from him. It's not an easy business, and it requires painful decisions just like our businesses do. It's great to be loyal, but not at the cost of becoming ordinary.

  2. That's fine CMR, you stick with Willie and see what happens to you with another year like this one.

This will go down as his undoing - mark my words.

Oh and I really appreciate reading that crap from CMR on the day I get my Hartman donation request form. This year I fully intend to put my money where my mouth is.
